Well - I love forums and find them much easier to navigate that Facebook groups. I think having a forum would make all the WIP/promo/giveaway posts much less cluttered and easier to keep track of Smile

There's also a calendar now, so we can add and track everyone's prints and stuff.
Do we want an area for links and resources? like a library of useful stuffs?

At the moment Pete it's open to anyone to sign up, though only members can see any of the forums. I understand protection our work is a priority though, and once we have everyone who wants in signed up, we can look at making sign ups by admin approval so that we can keep closer tabs on who is joining up, and make sure our work stays safe.

Okey dokey, no problemo and all that kind of thing. I've made a few sections in the promopimpomatic section for people to add links for stuff that needs votes, reblogs or faves. It says that I am Moderator so I thought I had best do something ;o) Do I get a badge?

The only problem will be getting everyone over here! I suppose if a deadline was given that people had to get here for and then the old group was closed down it would be an insentive!

I don't think closing down the FB group should happen. Facebook is still a great place to go and chat about shit, generally have a good laugh and get a quick response to stuff. These forums aren't really geared for fast-flowed-chatting.
There's been a great response from across the groups so far, but I would encourage you all to keep prodding those that haven't yet registered to make the move.
We already have a fantastic community of artists, this is a way of making things more organised.

Incentive-wise... because messages (promo requests, WiP feedback, etc.) are less likely to get buried, the chances are you'll get more out of it.

This is a good outlet and I will contribute, I just see it as another alternative to the FB groups and not a replacement. The individual threads for wip, promo etc is extremely helpful so things don't get lost. Very Happy

I think with time people will find a balance, some will use the FB groups more than this, some less than this. Over time the forum might attract folk who were not part of the FB groups too.

Things evolve, and this will hopefully be part of that
